The Okotoks Senior Men’s League welcomes new and experienced curlers over 50 years of age for fun, fellowship and of course, a bit of friendly competition. Curling is weekly at 9:30 am on Tuesday mornings except for holidays.

The lunch counter is open for morning coffee before the game and for a luncheon special at noon. Additional opportunity for social interaction is available in the Club Lounge upstairs after the game.

The Club and League takes registrations in mid-September. In 2011, it will be September 12 in the Okotoks Curling Club at 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. (Call the League Rep, Bob Niemi at 403 995-1176 for more details or if interested but unable to attend).

The Senior Men’s League takes individual sign-ups and the executive assigns these players to teams, changing them each half so that players will have new teammates.

The options are to play in the first-half (Oct-Dec), second-half (Jan-Mar) or full season (both halves). The fall season usually begins near the first of October and ends in mid-December, with a Christmas Wind-up Luncheon immediately after the last game. The winter season begins in early January and ends in mid-March with a Wind-up Luncheon and Annual General Meeting immediately after the last game.

Prizes are awarded to the players in the top teams in each half.

In the 2011-12 season, the Club Membership 1s $50, League fee of $95 for day and Social fee of $20 per half. The Membership fee entitles one to attend the Annual Club Banquet in April and the Social fee includes the Wind-up Luncheons.

The Senior Men’s League also hosts a Senior Men’s Bonspiel early in the first-half, where team (rather than individual) registration is required.
